Biography of Shaykh Muhammad AbdurRab Saqib Umri.
The Shaykh studied in Jamiyah Darussalam (Molvi Aalim Fazil course, 9 years) where he studied from Allamah Abul Bayan Hammad Umri, Shaykh Al-Hadith Muhammad Zaheerudin Athari and other scholars.
He obtained the first position in a Seerah Rasoolullah (saw) All India written competition by New college Madras. The Shaykh passed his “Afzal Al-Ullama” in Madras University. Afterwards he studied in Jamiyah Salafiyah Banaris (Fazil). He did his Urdu Fazil from “Idarah Adabiyat Urdu” Hyderabad Deccan. He did his B.O.L (equivalent of BA) in Uthmaniyah University and he obtained a certificate of Merit for having the first number. He did his M.O.L. from Uthmaniyah University Hyderabad Deccan.
Shaykh AbdurRab Saqib was Sadr Mudarris in Jamiyah Dar Al-Hadith Mushirabad, Imam and Kahteeb Jami Masjid Ahl e Hadith Chalkal Gorah in Sakandarabad.
The Shaykh is currently member of the Majlis Idarat of the monthly magazine “Sirat e Mustaqeem” Birmingham, member of the Islamic Judiciary Board UK, the Secretary of communication of Urdu Forum UK Birmingham, Imam and Khateeb and secretary of communication of Jami Masjid and Islamic school Queen Cross Dudley.
Shaykh AbdurRab Thaqib authored 3 books:
a) “Faizan Rabbani” (Collection of his poems)
b) “Islam ke Mu’asharti Masail” (2 vol)
c) “Shihab e Thaqib” (Collection of his poems)
The Shaykh is an active scholar, writing in many Urdu newspapers. His son Muhammad AbdurRauf Umri, graduate of Jamiyah Muhammad ibn Saud University is also an active Imam in UK, while his son Qari Abdur Rafi is currently studying in Riyadh university.
