English translation of Speech of Shaykh Muhammad Raohullah Tauhidi (Amir Markazi Jamiat Ahl e Hadith Kahybar Pakhunkhwah) on Tuesday 18 January 2022 live on Facebook, regarding the martyrdom (insha Allah) of Shaykh AbdulHameed Rahmaty (rah)

Al-Hamdulillah Rabbil Alamin, wal Aqibatu Lil Mutaqin, wa Salat wa Salam ala Sayidil Anbiya wal Mursalin, Nabiyina Muhammad (saw) wa ala Aalihi wa Sahbihi Ajma’een. Amma Ba’d, Fa A’uzu Billahi Sami’il Aleem Mina Shaytan Rajeem, min Hamzihi wa Nafkhihi wa Nafthih. “Minha Khalqanakum wa fiha Nu’idukum wa minha Nukhrijukum taratan ukhra”

First our Eman and Aqidah is that the believer does not perish at his death, temporarily a believer when he leaves the world, he is certainly separated from us, and the time of the separation is very difficult upon us, and the pain of this separation was felt by the most patient among the creation, Imam Al-Anbiya Muhammad (saw). Many companions of our Prophet (saw) passed away, some were martyred and tears felt from the eyes of the Prophet (saw), not because he was not satisfied with the decision of Allah, but only because the time of separation is very painful. Indeed, this time is very difficult when your faithful and loving companion, a companion in the way of Dawah and Islah is suddenly separated, this generates a great pain. The Prophet (saw) also shed tears at the death of his paternal uncle Hamzah (rad), he also shed tears at the martyrdom of Musab ibn Umayr. Tears also came in his eyes when his children were in their last breath…The Prophet (saw) said at the death of his son Ibrahim: “We are sad at your separation O Ibrahim”. This is from the Fitrah.

Our Shaykh (AbdulHameed), who was also like our teacher, an Arab scholar wrote a post on his wall, as Shaykh Ghullamullah Rahmaty’s status was such that his knowledge was accepted among Arab, likewise Arab scholars knew the status of his son and acknowledged his knowledge, and the Arab Shaykh wrote on his wall some words about the Shaykh (AbdulHameed Rahmaty) and I wrote in comments in Arabic that though Shaykh AbdulHameed Rahmaty was Naib Ameer in Markazi Jamiat Ahl e Hadith in the province, but I felt myself as a student in front of Shaykh AbdulHameed Rahmaty, I always gave him great respect and importance, whenever he was in a gathering or going to a trip, I would mostly seek guidance from him regarding Ahadith, I would benefit from his knowledge, and as the Shaykh said, Allah (Subhanahu wa Ta’ala) granted him a great expertise in Ilmul Hadith, Usul Al-Hadith, Asma wa Rijaal, Ilm Al-‘Ilal, and due to this, whenever I had such a question by whatsapp, a question regarding knowledge and specially the science of Hadith, and I had to reply from the science of Hadith, I would consider myself as excused, so I would send the clip to the Shaykh (Shaykh AbdulHameed) so that he can clarify as it was his field, and the Shaykh would send me a detail answer, by voice or through written quotes telling me to look at this place and I would find answer, that such is the reality of this narration. So he was our teacher, not merely a companion. His Janazah which happened yesterday, I told our companions when going to Takal, that if Shaykh Rahmaty was to die naturally, we wouldn’t have seen such a big crowd. This state of martyrdom, this honoured conferred to him, you saw an ocean present at his funeral, and all these people despite this extreme weather, rain and cold, not only scholars and students but also laymen participated with great respect and reverence.

We are thankful to all Ahbab, who were not only related to Ahl e Hadith Maslak, but also our Deobandi brothers who participated in the funeral and who expressed their grief and pain, political groups as well came, especially member of ANP, member of PTI, member of Jamate Islami, member of Ishaat Tawhid wa Sunnah, Mufti Munir Shakir came, all the companions who came, we are all thankful to them. Today as well some personalities came, in the morning the Markazi Amir of Ishaat Tawhid wa Sunnah Shaykh Muhammad Tayib Tahiri Sahib came and we are thankful to him, and this series of visits is continuing. Today in the senate, while I was on my way, Amir Muhtaram Professor Senator Sajid Mir said to me that he spoke to the chairman of the Senate and raised this issue in the Senate and Mushtaq Ahmad Khan, Senator from Jamate Islami spoke about this on the floor of the Senate, and the Senate Chairman ordered the IG of KPK to do Tahqiq on this issue and do enquiry of this crime and criminal case against involved perpetrators. All the companions who played a role on any forum, we are thankful towards them from the deepness of our hearts.

My brothers remember, as the Shaykh said and as I said yesterday in my speech, and as my speech yesterday was in Pushto, I received many whatsapp messages at night from brothers of Punjab to send a message in Urdu so we can understand. Hence I am speaking in Urdu now in this gathering, my brothers, someone’s death and martyrdom do not stop Deen ki Khidmat. Forget far away history and look at close history, our courageous and excellent scholar having Ghayrah for the religion, who was respected around the world for his research, Allamah Ihsan Elahi Zaheer (rah), he was martyred. The enemies thought they had ended Ahl e Hadith but this was the enemies’ forgetfulness, go nowadays and see in Punjab and Lahore if the number of Ahl e Hadith has increased or decreased, Al-Hamdullilah, it has increased. Look at the services of each of his sons, Allamah Ibtisam Elahi Zaheer (may Allah give him Shifa), Allamah Hisham Elahi Zaheer, Allamah Motasim Elahi Zaheer, may Allah preserve them all, look at the services they are giving by the favour of Allah, not only on Ahl e Hadith forums but they also come on national Media, they come and present their views and represent Islam and their Maslak by the favour of Allah.

Al-Hamdulillah, we are not people to refrain by the martyrdom or death of anyone from serving the religion insha Allah. Likewise, our Shaykh Jameel Ar-Rahman was martyred, was the Da’wah in Kahybar Pakhunkhawah society ended?

The father of Shaykh Abu Turab was martyred in front of his eyes in Quetta Baluchistan, the Shaykh himself told me about this event, that he was present and his father was martyred in front of his eyes, has the caravan stopped? Has the call of Tawheed ended in Quetta and Baluchistan? Has the call of Salafiyah ended? Go and see in Baluchistan how many Masajid are present and how many Madaris are present. Indeed, there is a network, there is active work of Da’wah. Look here, all the scholars who were martyred or passed away naturally, their inheritors brought their Da’wah forward, and in the same manner we will bring progress to the work of Shaykh AbdulHameed (rah).

Today I have spoken to Shaykh Abu Turab and I have spoken to many personalities, that as our Shaykh was an expert of Ilmul Hadith, science of Rijaal and Ilal Al-Hadith, Insha Allah, our aim is to call all his students through social media and do a program, we will invite all the students of Shaykh AbdulHameed, we will do a program with them, and in this program we will insha Allah announce the formation of a Research Centre, we will name it “Rahmaty Research Foundation”, so that the enemy know that it was one person, one AbdulHameed Rahmaty and know they will know it is an Idarah and the blood of Shaykh Rahmaty brought such a consequence by the favour of Allah, this was not ended by his martyrdom. So insha Allah very soon we will announce the formation of “Rahmaty Research Fondation”, in which his students and scholars will write on Ilmul Hadith, do research and continue lessons, and we Markazi Jamiat Ahl e Hadith will supervise it, we will head it, whatever services are required, we are present. So my brothers, we will not stop, we will not look back, we have to look ahead, we have to have a look at our target, The Shirkiyat, Khurafat, the thoughts against Islam, Ilhad in this society, the view of Hadith rejection and all other false ideologies which are spreading, we will do Ilmi work against it as our Shaykh AbdulHameed Rahmaty did Ilmi work.

I told Hafiz Sahib yesterday, and in the report the day before in the hospital, when we were registering the report, our Dr Zakir Shah Sahib, the general secretary of our Jamiat in the province, was present, that he (Shaykh AbdulHameed) had no personal animosity with anyone, neither he was speaking in a sectarian way, he was purely a Ilmi personality, he was a man of pen and book, he was attached to the pen and the book. He was such a strange person, I cannot tell you some matters, and the members of his family are sitting here and they know, many of our companions do not know, people think that the Shaykh was Shaykh Ghullamullah’s son so his pockets must be filled with Riyals or Kuwaiti Dinars, by Allah, we saw that on many instances he did not have money for fare to travel, we saw him spending his life in poverty, and he would not mention his needs to anyone, he was such a man of Allah, a self sufficient person , he would not mention his needs to people that he has a financial difficulty, he needs money to travel, my brothers, he had made his life a Waqf for the science of Hadith, so we will continue his efforts and make them progress.

My last statement, some people sent me screenshots of fake IDs on fake pages, that some people claimed to have killed the Shaykh, he was such and such, this is the third hand who wants us to fight between ourselves, so be vigilant. Some people want to give a sectarian colour to the incident of Shaykh AbdulHameed Rahmaty to fulfil their wrong aims, we want to make it clear that our Jama’at will never give it a sectarian colour, as we have never spoken of sectarianism, we are speaking of Quran and Sunnah and our Shaykh was speaking of the Quran and Sunnah. Yes, there are many sects in this country, there is Ilmi differences between many sects, but Ilmi difference does not mean being an enemy, Ilmi difference is a difference of the book and pen, we can have discussions, debates, and such matters are solved in this manner, but such topics will not be solved by the bullet, insult and stick, hence we are not in favour of bullets and insults. Some people will try to make us fight between ourselves…to use us in some manner, so our youth becomes zealot and do wrongs actions, so we have to be vigilant about this…

Insha Allah, not only our scholars and brothers, but our sisters and mothers cried all night to ask Allah to make the killers known, and to be humiliated and to be arrested soon. They will be humiliated soon, they have killed a Wali of Allah, the sleep of this killer will be Haram in the night, this is the law of Allah, as mentioned in Hadith Qudsi: “Whoever harms a Wali of mine, I will declare war on him”. Imam Shafi’I said that if the scholars are not the Awliya then there is no Awliya on this earth, these scholars are the Awliya, whoever has betrayed them and committed treachery with them, and harmed them in any way, Allah will make examples for them. Our Allah will take revenge from them.

And the last comment, what we said yesterday, and this is our right given by Islam and our human values, and it is our religious right, to request from the rulers the arrest of the killers of our Shaykh, and we will carry on doing it…
