Shaykh Shairkhan not only proofread "Tarikh Ahl e Hadith" 8 volumes and up to vol 24 of "Tahreek Khatme Nubuwat" but he also helped Dr Bahadin in providing necessary materials from India and worldwide to compose these huge works.
Dr Baha Al Din wrote in v 1 of "Tarikh Ahl e Hadith" v 1 p 66, published by Maktabah Islamiyah Lahore:
"In this work, thanking the companions who helped me knowledge-wise and morally is obligatory upon me, and among them are included Shaykh Thanaullah Sialkoti (London), Dr Muqtada Hasan Azhari (Banaris), Shaykh Asghar Ali Imam Mahdi Salafi (Delhi), Dr Abdul Wahab Ansari (Kasaganj), Shaykh Muhammad Ibraheem Khaleel (Hajrah Shah Muqeem), Shaykh SHAIRKHAN JAMEEL AHMED OOMERI (Birmingham), Shaykh Muhammad Ahsraf Javed (Faisalabad), Dr AbdurRauf Zafar (Bahawalpur)
I am thankful to Shaykh Ashraf Javed and Shaykh Ibraheem Khaleel for searching in Pakistan for rare literature of Ahl e Hadith, and in India Dr AbdulWahab Ansari remained busy for 8 years to fulfill my requests, Shaykh SHAIRKHAN JAMEEL AHMED OOMERI brought very precious and essential literature from his library and his grand father Shairkhan Ahmed Husayn (Marhoom)'s library in Adhoni (India), in this poor beggar's bowl. May Allah reard all these mentioned Ahbaab with the best of rewards, Ameen"
Dr Baha Al Din mentioned the key role and huge contribution of Shaykh Shairkhan Jameel Ahmed Oomeri in the 6th volume of his "Tarikh Ahl e Hadith" p 34-35, published by "Maktabah Tarjuman Delhi", especially his great role in providing materials, proofreading, motivating and comforting Dr Bahadin:
"To Allah belongs the Hamd and Minnah, the sixth volume of "Tarikh Ahl e Hadith" is reaching the hands of the readers, meaning that contents of approximately 4500 pages related to the history of Ahl e Hadith on the Indian subcontinent, contents collected from far away places, then it went through correction, abridgement, addition of Ta'liqat and notes, and then organized, computerized, corrected and printed.
All of this being accomplished by a person with permanent illness is not only an indication that Allah had accepted to take this work from this weak person, but it is also an indication to the fact that there is SOMEONE that Allah has chosen to motivate this disable, weak and worried person, who not only helped in providing material, but also helped in correcting and arranging.
And he (this person) kept in India the secretary general of Markazi Jam'iyat Ahl e Hadith Hind Fazeelatu Shaykh Molana Asghar Ali Imam Mahdi Salfi active and desirous to publish this series, and when confronted with worries, when this weak person would lose hope, then he would encourage me again, which would direct me back towards this destination.
In other words, after the help of Allah, it is the result of THIS WELL WISHER who on many days and nights inquired about the progress of the work and if more material is required, and where it can be found from, and other similar queries, and then without the desire of any material profit would be busy in looking for the material, and he has been behaving as such since years.
THIS PERSON'S NAME IS SHAYKH SHAIKHAN JAMEEL AHMED OOMERI, may Allah reward him and his noble wife 'Aishah Bint Hazrat Molana Mukhtar Ahmed Nadwi for their altruist and without loosing courage help upon good, though the responsibility of mistakes are upon the shortcomings of this poor person.
The Faqeer in the court of As-Samad, Muhammad Bahadin"
